Beliefs
God (eternally existent in three Persons)
- We believe in God the Father, the all-powerful, all-knowing and all-present maker of heaven and earth.
- We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He performed miracles and modeled the perfect, sinless human life. He was persecuted and crucified. He was dead and buried but on the third day He defeated death and rose again. He ascended into heaven and now sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. One day He shall return and come to judge the living and the dead.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, the comforter and guide who dwells within every born-again believer.
Scripture
- We believe in the Holy Scripture of the Bible, divinely inspired, trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct
Humanity and Salvation
- We believe humankind, male and female, are created in the image of God, with consequent dignity, delegated authority, and creation stewardship. As a result of the Fall all peoples are lost and sinful and in need of forgiveness and salvation.
- We believe forgiveness and salvation are available only through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are received by repentance and faith, apart from human effort, as the Holy Spirit brings about new birth.
- We believe the Holy Spirit indwells, empowers, and equips each believer, who is thereby obliged and enabled to live a holy life, to witness, and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in His Kingdom concerns. Including worship, prayer, evangelism, discipleship, compassion, justice and righteousness.
Church
- We believe all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are spiritually united with each other. They comprise the universal, invisible Church; the Body of Christ; of which Jesus Christ is the head.
- We believe we are only passing through this world but nevertheless God calls us to be concerned for it. We, therefore, have a deep concern for such issues as poverty, justice, freedom, equality and the environment. We understand that the Bible does not draw distinctions between people's spiritual and physical wellbeing, and we are committed to caring for both.
- We believe all the dead will be raised on the Last Day. Everyone who has ever lived will be judged by God. Those who are saved to eternal life and those who are lost to eternal condemnation.
